My story, "The Devil's in the Details," is now live at Infernal Ink (FB page linked). This is a quirky little story with my brand of humor that I adapted from a ten minute play I wrote for a playwriting class. Though my story is pretty tame, Infernal Ink's stories often have adult content, so fair warning. Here are some links to the various formats of the issue:

I am a Writers of the Future Contest Semi-Finalist for the Fourth Quarter, 2013

I have just been informed that I am a Writers of the Future Contest Semi-Finalist for the Fourth Quarter, 2013. It's cool to get so close, but also kind of a bummer. However, I'll be getting some feedback on my novella, "Star Heart, Skin of Darkness," so I expect I'll tweak it and send it back out. Hopefully it will find a home soon.

"Best in Show" to appear in Stupefying Stories

My scifi, flash length cat show story will appear in Stupefying Stories (probably it's Showcase feature). This is humor sale #4 for me to Stupefying Stories. It's nice that Stupefying Stories' editor, Bruce Bethke, and I seem to appreciate the same kind of humor. I'll post a link when the story goes live. It's one of my favorites!

"One Man's Trash" has been accepted by Untied Shoelaces of the Mind

My flash piece, "One Man's Trash," has been accepted by Untied Shoelaces of the Mind. Untied is a market I've attempted to crack many, many times, and I've finally succeeded.

Geoff Porter, the Untied editor, wrote in the acceptance letter:

We really enjoyed it.  Perhaps the best sci-fi we've ever gotten.  One of the best for sure.  We want to publish it in the next issue.

I'm obviously very pleased by this, and I'll post a link when the story goes live.

Lilah is live at Fiction on the Web

Oops. October 25th kind of came and went for me, I've been so busy with my studies, but my story, "Lilah," is now live at Fiction on the Web.

"Gorlack the Destroyer's All You Can Eat Adventure" sells to Dark Expanse, plus two reprints accepted!

My humorous story, "Gorlack the Destroyer's All You Can Eat Adventure," has sold to the people at Dark Expanse.  I'm not sure how my story will be inserted into the game, but when I get a direct link or more information, I'll be sure to post it.

 This story, in addition to being a favorite of mine, is also the twentieth original story I've sold. Yay for hitting a personal milestone.

In another milestone, reprints #9 and #10 have been accepted.

"Lilah," which originally appeared in Loconeal's Loco-thology, will now be available to a broader audience on October 25th at Fiction on the Web

"Lilah" is a bit different than what I normally write and is not humorous, but I think it's a powerful story and is one of my oldest published stories.

In other news, my story "Mikey Frick Finds a Flower," which originally appeared with Kazka Press will be reprinted by the folks at The Story Shack. What's extra cool about this is that there will be an original illustration drawn up for the story. I can't wait to see how it turns out,and I'll post a link to Mikey and to Lilah when both go live.
